Disaster strikes when curator Christian hires a public relations team to build some hype for his renowned Swedish museum. Winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes, Ostlund follows up Force Majeure (2014) with this edgy satire on the contemporary art world, male privilege and middleclass do-goodism. Lots of surreal, absurd humour as Christian’s image as a liberal paragon starts to crack. Fine performances, notably from Elizabeth Moss and Dominic West. (Read more…)
Our last presentation ‘The Orphanage’
Once again, apologies to everyone who turned up expecting to see ‘Loving Vincent’, only to discover that the film had not been received from the distributor. Despite the short notice we were able to screen an alternative (a film we had shown around 10 years ago, and for which the club still had the disc).
There were 10 Audience Reaction slips returned after the showing of this film. The breakdown from these slips were as follows:

- ‘Good’: 1 vote
