- Reminded me very much of early Herzog films. Stunningly beautiful landscapes with the naïve explorer completely out of his depth slowly being driven mad.
- The film is like a trip into a past world invoked with painstaking detail: the pace crucial for this world to materialise. Yet there in a world beyond – a spiritual one – and the journeys depicted in the film show humanity aching for more but never finding it. The priest is redundant.
- What a truly brilliant film – every shot a work of art.
- A remarkable cinematic feat! One to absorb and remember! Super!
- ‘Very Good’: 6 votes
- Very absorbing, excellent camera-work and good storytelling.
- Breathtaking scenery and haunting, even if rather languid in its pace!
- The 2 hours flew by, so I must have enjoyed it.
- Very dramatic landscape. Incessant rain would drive people mad! Bit grim but well made and interesting. The amusing parts were welcome light relief.

- Too long. More questions than answers.
